KANCHIPURAM One of the seven sacred cities of India. India'a most spectacular temple cities and its many gopurams can be seen miles away. Also famous for its handwoven silk fabrics. Visit Kailashnatha temple - dedicated to Shiva built in late 7th century by Pallav King. Visit Vaikuntaperumal temple - dedicated to Vishnu, built between 674 and 800 AD. Ekambaresnwara temple - dedicated to Shiva. This is one of the largest temples covering nine hectares of land.
